Fondazione E. Amaldi as the national Ambassador of the programmes ESA Business Applications and InCubed+ co-organized with the Italian Insurtech Association – IIA the event “Insurtech in the fence of Space Innovation” on 27th January 2022 from 16.30 to 17.50 CET. The initiative was designed to bring space and its technologies closer to the world of insurance exploring the possible interactions between space and insurtech.
The event was opened by the institutional greetings of Lorenzo Scatena, Secretary General of the Fondazione E. Amaldi and Ambassador of the European Space Agency, and Simone Ranucci Brandimarte, President of the Italian Insurtech Association – IIA. Then the representatives of the European Space Agency Rita Rinaldo, Head of the Studies and Projects Implementation Division at ESA, and Giuseppe Borghi, Head of the Φ-lab Division ESA – ESRIN, showcased the co-financing opportunities provided by the ESA Business Applications and InCubed+ programs while Simon Davies, Vice President of Marsh UK the world’s leading insurance broker and risk advisor, joined the event for a keynote speech.
A round table followed to highlight some interesting use cases that integrate space solutions in the insurance sector: Gianni Cristian Iannelli, CEO and President at Ticinum Aerospace, Marco Ramadoro, Founder AnCoRa Advisory srl, and Alessandro Francesconi, Managing Director at Stellar Project SrL.
The event was moderated by Cristina Maria Gogu – Project Manager Fondazione E. Amaldi.
