Activities
Fondazione E. Amaldi organizes its work around three activity lines, designed to respond to different but complementary needs: companies looking to innovate with space technologies, international organizations seeking Italian partners, and anyone in need of analysis and expertise to navigate the space sector.
The three activity lines draw on technical expertise developed in-house by the Foundation in areas such as Earth observation and telecommunications, life sciences, materials and energy, advanced manufacturing, electronics and new materials. This expertise is what makes technology transfer to non-space companies concrete, and gives technical solidity to the Foundation’s analysis and international partnership activities.
To complement the three activity lines, the Foundation facilitates Italian space companies’ access to public and private financing instruments: support for venture capital funding for New Space Economy startups, a dedicated private equity desk, and institutional relations with ESA, ASI, the European Commission and EUSPA to facilitate investment and commercialization both nationally and internationally.
Data & Intelligence
We provide the analytical foundation to support the decisions of companies, institutions and investors: market analysis, dedicated reporting, strategic advisory, and training programs to help navigate the space sector and the New Space Economy.
Capacity building
We help non-space companies adopt space-enabled solutions: we identify the technologies most relevant to their needs, support experimentation, and facilitate their integration into existing processes. Concrete applications range from training to finance, from sustainable technologies to advanced materials.
International Matchmaking
We connect non-Italian organizations and institutions with Italian SMEs and university spin-offs with high technological content, building operational partnerships from the initial contact through to the formal agreement. We are most active in Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East, where demand for national space ecosystems is growing rapidly.
